Exercising Frustration

Holy crap, a post NOT related to a fictional football team?! IT’S A MIRACLE! Yes indeed, it’s a ‘something else’ kind of post. Just something that I’ve found myself wondering this evening. Why do I tend to seek out that which annoys me? An example : I often complain about gamers. I sincerely believe that the average gamer is the most selfish, entitled, whining like punk fuck in existence today. They sicken me. Nothing is [...]

Two team enter, one team leave

A quick recap on Week 2 of the fantasy season…sweet victory! 202.07-159.72 was the score. I’m actually pretty amazed that Moster’s roster of misfit toys managed to put up that much in scoring.. It was over 200 points, and that’s despite a negative score from Cutler and Jamaal Charles putting up 1.08 points before blowing out his knee. Vincent Jackson, who I expected to step up? 32.6 points. Fred Jackson? 28.83 points. Jordy Nelson scored [...]

Week 2 – A Search for Redemption

Week one was a train wreck. Week 2 has to get better…right? When your team gets it’s ass handed to it like the Northern Horde did a week ago, a person has to regroup and make some changes. And changes…oh yes, they were made. First off : injuries! Marques Colston is out at least a month after breaking his collarbone. And Dez Bryant, who would have slotted in to his spot, is Questionable this week [...]

What I’m Playing : Space Marine

I am a bit of a fan of the Warhammer 40K universe. I read the fiction. I own a couple of the board/card games. I love the Dawn of War & DoW 2 series on PC. I don’t play the table top game, though. I ain’t about to drop thousands of dollars on a bunch of tanks I then spend dozens of hours painting, only to return home in defeat because some 17 year old [...]

Week One Recap – Horde Beat Down

The second Monday nighter is still ongoing, but the writing is on the wall. It was on the wall partway through Sunday. And the writing is in the weak, thin blood of this team. 201.88 – 82.37. That is the degree of complete and utter ass kicking that has been delivered upon the Northern Horde this week. Poundcake isn’t so much a rival team as they are an angry Greek god delivering a vicious penance [...]

Warehouse Spams & Scams

“But…but…the Blog Challenge is over, Cliff! you don’t have to post!” “And you don’t have to breathe…if I kill you. So buckle up, bitches! I’m not done talking.” Working in a warehouse, one can often encounter amusingly bizarre situations. For example, how many of you knew that fax spam still exists? It is most certainly alive and well. Every single morning, there’s a fax waiting for me when I unlock the door. Maybe it will [...]

And as the tattered remains of another challenge flutter in the wind…

…I try to come up with a decent ending for this sentence. What the Hell was I thinking? I can’t do smart! Everyone else had a post that they announced as their cop out post. I haven’t done that. Until now. I saved it for the last day, because I’m tired. But anyone can write their own cop out. Fuck that noise. Well I’ve failed this years Summer Blog Challenge.  I really hate losing a [...]

Are you ready for some fantasy football!

I sure as fuck am, as my usual ‘participating in 4 leagues’ will attest to. Now, I’ve gotten away from talking about a team over the course of the year, mainly because I need to narrow it down to one of them. But here I am in need of a topic on one of the last days of the Challenge, so I’m doing it. Say Hello to the Northern Horde of the Matrix Games Hall [...]

Feelings of Meh and Regret

Whenever I’m buying a game, I tend to research it. Unless it’s a computer game marked down so much that I just start shouting “OOOO! OOOO!” while pressing the buy button as quickly as possible. When we’re talking board games (which apparently I do…a lot…you may have noticed…), I kind of go in to overdrive with this. Read up on a game, download a pdf of the rules, check out some online reviews, maybe see [...]

What I’m Playing : Bastion

This weekend, I finished 2 games. One was Bastion, the other was Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2. Both took about 5 hours or so to play through. Both cost me $15. While MW2 was sorta fun with a plot that may have been written by drunken 15 year olds, Bastion was one of the better games I’ve played this year. A cataclysmic event known only as ‘The Calamity’ has ripped your world apart. [...]
