What I’m Playing

How did it come to this, indeed. And yes, that image above actually IS relevant to the title. It isn’t just an excuse to shove a picture of a hot chick in to a post. Don’t know where her (and that line) are from? You need to watch better movies. Anyway, a comment from Shaun yesterday has inspired today’s post. So I’ve been following your SAP nightmare and I’m quite surprised. Has IT and the [...]

After a couple of days of nothing to offer (“Same shit, different day” gets old), there were actual events and stuff today. To start off this morning, the SAP ‘Help’ system sent me several emails saying that all of my access requests over many moons had been rejected by high level admin types for not using the right form. They also helpfully linked to the proper form…which turned out to be the exact same one [...]

You’ve shared in the trials and tribulations experienced throughout this clusterfuck. You understand what a messed up shit show this has been. And no, nothing has changed for the better. Today, we learned something that absolutely terrifies me. Despite all of the problems, the glitches, the non-working systems and the fuckups, the Leduc branch is currently the most productive branch Cameron has in North America. Holy shit. That’s tankrageous. Let’s put this in context : [...]

As expected, things with the trainer got screwed up, and he now heads back to Houston on Saturday. That doesn’t leave much time to learn shipping, stock transfers or assigning parts to jobs. Awesome. Especially since the printers still won’t consistently have anything to do with SAP. Houston (of course) claims ‘user error’, which is the polite corporate way of saying “You morons are fucking it up.” I suspect some sort of jilted romance between [...]

It almost feels like hope. I mean, it’s been awhile, so I could be wrong…but it seems like it might be…could it be? Dawning like a new day, to wash away the darkness of these many moons of torment and stupidity? Oh no, my access is still royally fucked. Don’t be thinking there was any progress on that front. I had to start the asking for access procedure AGAIN, this time in a completely new [...]

Nothing really changed today. Oh, I got access to more stuff I don’t need despite the fact my request for my access to things I do need apparently being lost, this requiring me to start all over again. Wonderful. Today was one of those days where I eagerly accepted assignments to be out in the yard, despite the drizzling weather. It was either that, or I would have started impaling people on the forks of [...]

Where did we leave off? Oh, right, I didn’t have any access. -I still don’t have any access. They claim I need to take a couple of SAP lessons. I took the lessons. It’s recorded in my file that I took them. They have just as much access to that file as I do. Your guess as to what the Hell is going on at this point is as good as mine. -Turns out probably [...]

An homage to what might be the funniest, most mailed in movie title ever. Let us begin. -I have SAP access! The bad news is that I have access only to Quality Assurance stuff, which isn’t part of my job description. Attempts to get that rectified went as unanswered as everything else is by the mongoloids in tech support in Houston. -We’re still logging in to the old version, even though we aren’t supposed to. [...]

Day 2 was uneventful, so I skipped it. -Oh look, I STILL don’t have access. My manager has us going in to SAP a completely different way, but I find myself wondering why this other way in exists…and why I for some reason have transaction access through this route. This seems quite wrong. SHOCKINGLY, it later turned out doing things this way was verboten, and it was an old entry for purely informational purposes. Of [...]

I figured I may as well document the ‘progress’ with the switch over to SAP when something happens. Let’s cover today : -Oh look, I still don’t have access. A new email from corporate support, telling me that I need to apply for added access myself. Perhaps that would have been handy information to have yesterday, rather than them telling me my manager needed to do it on my behalf… -Okay, let’s see, form is [...]
