I’ve posted previously, many moons ago, about how a brush with someone of some level of fame can cause people to act a little bit over the top. Nothing wrong with it, except for those who take such star worship to a degree where it becomes less about “OHMYGOD, so and so is talking to me!” and more about “Yes, imaginary voice of famous person in my head, I will kill the President.”

Anyway, everyone has their little brushes of fame. I’ve found that Twitter is often the source of it, since it really gives you the ability to throw obscenity-laden drivel towards anyone and everyone you can access. Aside from the fact that I keep winning things in Twitter promotions, I think that the chance to interact with people I would normally have no goddamn hope in Hell of ever speaking with is probably the reason I keep with it. Well, that and the fact it’s basically a no maintenance kind of thing when compared to a “Here’s a metric shit ton (as opposed to an Imperial shit ton) of updates about shit you really don’t care about at all!” situation like Facebook.

Have any of you ever noticed that a person is following you and you’re absolutely stupefied as to WHY they care what you think about anything? For me, it’s happened a few times. More often than not, it’s a lame auto-follow setup where anyone you follow robotically reciprocates in some weak attempt to make you feel like they’re at all interested in whatever pabulum you feel like sharing. But on rare occasions, it isn’t.

So seriously…why is Nile Rodgers following me?

A quick Bio for those who don’t know who that is :

-Ever heard of Chic? He’s the guitar player.

-Perhaps some of these albums ring a bell : Diana by Diana Ross, Let’s Dance by David Bowie, Like a Virgin by Madonna. He produced them. Also, pretty much every hit album Duran Duran put out, plus music from INXS, Jeff Beck, Robert Plant, Peter Gabriel, David Sanborn, Eric Clapton, David Lee Roth, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Cyndi Lauper and a pile of others.

-He’s produced the soundtracks for about a gazillion movies. He’s also done the musical scores for a bunch of video games.

WHY IS THIS PERSON FOLLOWING ME? And yes, he started following me first…Hell, this time I ended up being the one doing the “Okay…I GUESS I’ll follow you back” thing, which is so far beyond the bounds of the way the world should work that it has possibly warped reality itself. Does he really, REALLY dig a chattering jackass rambling on and on about games and sports while dropping more F bombs before 9 am than the United States Marine Corps? Hell, he’s DM’ing me about blog comment software! I…I have absolutely no idea what to make of this. There is only one conclusion :

I’m a motherfucking star, baby.

Or something.

Anyway, it’s kinda cool.
