EA’s upcoming Medal of Honor takes the game from World War 2 and to modern day Afghanistan. There was a bit of a kerfuffle due to multi player allowing some people to play as…GASP…THE TALIBAN!
My GOD! How MONSTROUS! A bunch of character skins that look like Taliban shooting another set of character skins representing PROUD AMERICANS. Ugh. Oh, and before any Canadian types get all high and mighty, our freaking Defence Minister was a vocal critic. Yes, apparently someone playing as a graphical representation of the Taliban will destroy modern society as we know it and bring about a cataclysm which will shake the Earth to it’s core.
Anyway, it’s now the US vs. OpFor. How delightful and plain and milquetoast inoffensive. But perhaps Virtual Shackles has a better concept :
And also, if you’re nerdy enough to think that this sounds interesting, the video of a live D&D session from PAX has been put up at Wizards of the Coast. It’s actually pretty damn entertaining…if you’re a geek…like me.
