What I’m Playing

There would be a few finalists, but Chapters (or any other bookstore with a good selection) would probably win out. I could EASILY drop a grand on books…just as I unload seven boxes of them to a second hand store.

My name is Cliff, and I am a total books addict. I know that I have a problem…and fuck you if you’re planning to make me deal with it. :)

Ask me anything

Considering your last post 'uncluttering', isn't going to a book store rather silly?

I tell you, Cliff. You need an addiction. I'm not going to touch your book addiction. Especially since I have a pretty good-sized one of those, too.

I don't even want to imagine the rage and the sheer damage you would inflict on the world if you didn't have SOME addiction.

Holes Garden Centre or Home Depot for me.

    Music store.

I'm just being honest…I'd spend it on books.

Hell, anywhere you spend $1000 is going to lead to some level of new clutter.

  • Qikdraw

True, but considering your stance on just reading a book once it seemed kinda silly.

And why do you read a book only once? If you enjoyed it then its a book to read again. Same with movies or music.

  • Qikdraw

I'd like to say Home Depot, Lowes, or Rona for tools, and get me some real nice tools (Makita lithium full set would be nice. I have the impact driver already, sweet drill.) however I think the wifey might step in and she'd probably head to get a new computer first.

But, not ALL are really re- readable, watchable, playable. The ones that you finish because they were ok, but quickly discard into the realm of unmemorable. I have lots of books like that, I clear them out 2x a year and only keep my favorites.

And, Cliff, you are a man after my own heart! A bookstore would win my vote, hands down, and I, too, am a readaholic. As evidenced by the myriad of bags, boxes, shelves, drawers, piles stuffed with them.

You really need some work on comprehension.

Some books are one time readers. I have a lot of non fiction stuff about government and the like that I'm not going to glean anything new from by reading again. They're one time read books. I do have favorites that will be re-read multiple times, but not every book fits that description. And if I'm not re-reading it, why am I keeping it?

  • Qikdraw

Methinks you need to explain yerself better. You did say:

'Others are books that I enjoyed, but they aren’t something that I can ever see myself going back to because once you’ve read them once, that’s it. You aren’t going to gain anything new from a repeat visit.'

How am I supposed to take that except at your word? Its not clear if you are talking about historical type books or all books. It may be clear in 'your' mind, but I'm not a mind reader. Not yet anyway. :)

I really like these topics where your readers create half the content. I going to be honest I can barely skim you NFL post, partly because I don’t care about football, and partly because I have no idea who the players are even if you tell me he’s a slotback I have no idea what that means, which is all because I don’t care about foo ball I guess, but these are fun.

I’d pick Webs it’s a yarn store, and seeing as a really gorgeous ball of yarn can be 50 bucks USD. I’d love a grand to buy the kinds of things I don’t have the budget for. I love to knit, and I’m going to guess that knitting is something you really don’t care about ;)

umm… well I wish there was an edit button. I hit submit to run up stairs because of some bedtime commotion. So just go ahead and imagine that missing letters and commas are there, and that I do know how to spell.

Heh, no worries. I am the last person on Earth who has the right to slam the grammar of someone else. :)

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how this Formspring addition has worked out, actually. It was just something I was giving a bit of a trial run, but I like seeing the answers of others compared to what I bring to the table.

Nope, knitting isn’t so much my deal, so I’ll leave that to you. :)
