What I’m Playing

‘Pain Don’t Hurt.’ There are many ridiculous lines from Roadhouse, but that one takes the cake.

Also, the best collective line is when every hero in every movie sees his woman die and shouts “NOOOOOO!” while raising his fists to the sky like he’s going to punch God. Especially hilarious was Darth Vader doing it at the end of Revenge of the Sith. Craptacular.

Ask me anything

  • Tammy

“You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk? – Clint Eastwood or “Nobody puts baby in a corner” – Patrick Swayze. Although, i can't deny that I like the the cheezy arnie quotes like “asta la vista…babee!”

    Fine choices, Tammy. Fine choices.

Another delightfully cheezy one that I enjoy : “I live my life by the quarter mile.” So…goddamn…funny. :)

There are of course the classics: Scarface “Say hello to my little friend!” or perhaps Jack Nicholson “Heeeere's Johnny!”. One of my top movie quotes besides some of the ones you mentioned is Randy Quaid in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation where he is standing in his underwear/housecoat smoking a cigar emptying his RV toilet into the sewer and he say “Merry Christmas! Shitters full!”

-The speech Aragorn gives just before the final battle in Return of the King
-”I came to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum” – Roddy Piper from “They Live”
-”Gordon's ALIIIIIVE?!” – Volton from “Flash Gordon”
-”Put that COFFEE DOWN!” -Alec Baldwin's character, “Will you go to lunch?” – Kevin Spacey's character, “FAAAAAWK YEEEEWWWWW!” – Ed Harris's character from “Glengarry Glenn Ross”

Best Speech From a Movie would be that entire Alec Baldwin section from Glengarry Glen Ross. So…damn…good.

I'd put the Al Pacino shouting at Kevin Spacey tirade ahead of the Alec Baldwin speech, but not by much.

    “You child, you infant.”

    Love it.

I had forgotten about how fantastic that whole tirade is. Damn, choosing between those two is a tough call.
