What I’m Playing

Stuff.

Thanks for reading!

Congratulations! You found the ‘continue reading’ button! You’re a big boy/girl now.

Since it’s been quiet for a bit, I figured I’d post just enough to give this place the illusion of ongoing life.

Things continue to progress on the RYG front. More on that when I can talk about it (I know, I know…prick thing to do. That’s why I do it).

I did something yesterday that I never ever thought I would actually step up and do…I started using Twitter. Part of me is amused by it, and part of me just wants to curl up in a tub full of Borax and sulphuric acid for a week to cleanse my soul of the shame that now fills it. So yeah, the obligatory link to my Twitter feed :

Follow if you want to. I don’t know that I’ll be one of those people tweeting (using that word makes part of me deep, deep inside die) constantly. I really joined more to follow than actually produce anything.

And that brings me to what seems to be becoming my addiction…computer apps. I have a few IM accounts now that were insanely cumbersome when spread all over the goddamn place and amongst different programs, so I have tried a few programs out to amalgamate all of them together. First it was Digsby. Nice little program that can also take all your social media and email, too. Problem was, Windows Live Messenger kept apparently showing me as logged out. Turns out, there can be a clash between that and WL Mail if you have them both ported in to one program…and I did. Fuck you and your desire for everyone to use your apps, MS!

So I switched to Pidgin for IM stuff and Thunderbird for Email stuff. Pidgin wasn’t bad, and it had a plug-in that tied right in to Skype. You needed Skype also running since it’s a completely self enclosed program, but it was kind of nice having everything (sort of) pooled in to one program…until I started using Twitter. I went right back to Digsby (for IM and Twitter, anyway) and its colourful interface and fully integrated Twitter app (Sorry, Liam).

Throw in Snarl, and Skype, Thunderbird and Foobar2000 pop ups that work in it, and my desktop is a veritable cornucopia of multi coloured pop up bubbles. Ain’t nobody fuckin’ sneakin’ up on MY desktop, bitches!

What else to talk about. Well, of course, I’ve been playing games. Shocking! Finished Torchlight, which is an amusing little dungeon crawler for $20 if you like that sort of thing. I’m probably two thirds of the way through Red Faction : Guerrilla, which I snagged for half of awhile back. I actually have quite a number of recent sale purchases to play through, enough to keep me going for awhile…so that’s good.

I’ve also found time read occasionally. I finally got to actually reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies…fantastic goddamn book! I will lend it to anyone interested. All of the overwrought drama of the Bennet sisters mixed with a plague of the walking dead. Oh, and there are ninjas as well. Pure sweetness. And I recently found out that there is a follow up…Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. It looks glorious.

Fantasy Football has been up and down this year. Two of my four teams are in danger of missing the playoffs. The other two are top 3 in their respective leagues. It seems to be ‘all or nothing’ for the football teams this year.

And this is rapidly degenerating in to just a gigantic version of a twitter ‘post’ so I’m going to stop now.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
