Heh heh...I kind of like that, actually. And if the friendly soldier AI hasn't improved since my first go around with the version 1.0 demo, setting these guys up as morons will make a lot of sense.

oh! oh! or alternate between the two POVs in the same game.

G.I. Eaner was pumped about this new mission, he'd been sending emails to his mom all day about how psyched he was. He checked his AK-47 for the tenth time, everything was ready, he just need to hear the word 'go' from his C.O. He was sure he'd make a big difference on the combat field

Cliff, omniscient God of the battlefield, decided he was a little bored of the usual tactics, it was time to try something different. Hmm.. yes, torture an infantry division, that would amuse him briefly. His mouse pointer hovered over the troops he could select.. now which one had displeased him most....

I demand a traffic patterns AAR from Shaun! :)

Glad you've enjoyed it thus far. I'm often torn a bit on how much to explain about the game engine and the like...so far I've kept it to an extreme minimum, and I think I prefer it that way rather than constantly cutting in to the fictional bits with annoying sidebars. That strikes me as too much like sitcoms that have a character talking to you, the viewing audience, outside the show's plot. It always gets overused and just becomes intensely annoying and unfunny.

Besides, a little confusion isn't a bad thing for the simple fact that I'm often a little confused, or at least in the dark. I don't know how things will turn up, what they'll result in, what the effect will be and all that jazz.

Anyway, so far I'm pretty happy with how this has turned out. I'm going to be starting up a second one following my attempts to play the Arma 2 demo again (the game is a ridiculously detailed military sim), but I might actually write that one just from the perspective of myself the gamer. I figure between alternating from one to the other, it should help keep things a bit fresher.
