Sorry to hear of your problems Cliff. I'd offer advice, but what I know about blogging and HTML editing can be written in large letter, in crayon, on a matchbox.
For my blog my wifey is telling me what coding is needed. I'm glad I don't habe to think about it, if I get stuck, let her get all upset over it. lol

WYSIWYG editors all suck for some reason or another.

I composed this just for you:

Cliff now acts like a lunatic
Gonna beat his dog with a real big stick
Cliff is now really really really mad
Gonna turn the stick on his dad
I would say Cliff's mad as hell
Because he doesn't know HTML

You can sing that in some delightful commercial jingle, or chant it like a dirge. Or you can just grumble.

Sorry to hear about your adventure through formatting hell. That was basically the first three months of web programming for me.

Nothing more frustrating than having the content you want, having it all written up and then meeting an impenetrable wall of suck.

Pwnd by HTML.

It never ceases to amaze me how the one thing that always seems to separate a non-technical person from truly utilizing the web is the text editor.

So you know, Blogger can be the same when it comes to placing images and formatting text. It's just when it starts getting all uppity with me, I can reach into the code and make it do what I want.

I haven't tried LiveWriter before. But if it is something that lets you prepare your posts in Word and then will copy-paste it (correctly) into a rich text editor, it might be the way to go for you.

Get Windows Live Writer. I've only used it for the blog I made about my vehicles but I installed it because I heard good things from a couple other blogs (James and Shaun maybe?)

You get to prepare the post locally, it seems to have a good interface and then you just upload it to your site.
