What I’m Playing

So, before I even get down to business…you’re welcome to everyone else who participated in the recording of this, since I’ve just given all of you the material for your next blog post. I’m good like that.

Yes indeed, ladies and germs, I have completed and uploaded the 2nd Violent Aggression podcast! I have to say that it went pretty smoothly. I did get to benefit from lessons James learned about Audacity and Levelator the first time he did one, as well as having all of the content pre-edited. So a bit of fine editing later, the segments were good to go. Really, that’s the reason I was able to get this finished this weekend (not counting fine editing time and stuff like that)…all I had to do was record the quick little welcome message, then grab some song samples, and I was ready to get started. So in a way I would like to thank everyone who helped do all the editing in the first place, because all of that halped this get done a lot quicker…except Vlad. He is never allowed to ‘edit’ unsupervised ever again.

Could it be a little more refined? Meh, probably…but I think it’s more than adequate as it stands right now, so I’m rollin’ with it.

What will you find in this podcast? Listen as we discuss a lot of movies…we got your Transformers, we got your Watchmen, we got your train-0eating snake flicks, we got your housepets in spy gear doin’ stuff! We discuss/mock/savage Sarah Palin and the average American voter without mercy (the song choice after her bit was intentional and most definitely directed in the general direction of that blithering idiot)! Liam goes loco and starts yelling at everyone! Vlad blogs AS YOU LISTEN! And of course, a bunch of us eat some of this :

Mmmmmm...goes down gooooooood.

Mmmmmm...goes down gooooooood.

Enjoy as you listen to our sugar fueled ramblings (that empty Sweet Tarts box you can see in that pic was just the tip of the diabetic iceberg, folks). And no, we WEREN’T drunk OR high…just nuked on sugar and coffee. Weeeeeeee!

Let the games begin!

Oh, and anyone who can’t identify where that final bit of speech tacked on to the very end is from…punch yourself. Really, really hard.

Hey, great editing. I like the music in between the segments. I really laughed at some of it quite a bit even though I have heard it before, you guys are pretty funny!

Thank you…it turned out pretty well.

    And yes, we are funny.

And no, you are not getting out of making at least a token appearance next time to talk about dude from your past and his mural painted van with the sex lights.

Would be good to have you there next time, Shaun. We’re slowly learning how to do this in a way that makes it faster/easier/better to get content out of it once it’s finished. Having now put one of these together myself I’m definitely on board to piece another one together down the line.

I wouldn’t mind letting someone else take a shot at one either, though. I think everyone is going to put them together a little bit differently so the more people who get involved in the final product, the more styles we’ll have…rather than just being limited to every one of them sounding pretty much the same.

Listening to it now and even though I was there it still makes me laugh pretty good. I’ll be there for the next one of course. On a side note looking at that picture it looks like a jar full of sandy dirt, water, and a couple of teeth.

I listened to it while sitting outside the kids’ room waiting for their cake-sugar-buzz to subside. I would say slightly less amusing than the first one, although that might have to do with the fact I listened to the first one while driving across the country alone and sleep deprived.

Good grief…you potentially subjected your poor kids to this?! Have you no HEART?

Thanks for taking THAT bullet for us, Unkie Kif.

I haven’t made the time to do any more work on what was supposed to be number 2. Maybe in time to get it out before #3. I dunno. I liked the musical selections. They were very appropriate.

Well really Liam, the bigger question is…where’s the video? Huh? HUH? :)

Like I told Liam, I am part of a futuristic testing corps of in-ear audio technology. I think they are going to call the things phonears, or earduds, or headfins or something… I think it will revolutionize audio listening to the point where you won’t have to carry a 20 lb ghetto blaster on your shoulder anymore to hear your favorite tunes.

    Yours Truly,

    70′s Kyle

You mean my invention of a shoulder rack to mount a ghetto blaster on either side of a person’s head might not be a such a hit after all? Dammit!

Not unless you also incorporate some kind of steel-reinforced harness that can suspend a 13 inch black and white TV in front of you as well. I hear mobile video is the next big thing.

Now THAT’S a good idea, Kyle! I hear this whole multimedia thing might just take off with the kids.

What is this “multi media”? Are you saying sights and sounds could possibly go together? Along with some other form of medium? Astounding! We’ll be richer than Rockefeller! But probably not Rockapella.

That’s what I’m hearing, anyway…some crazy kook in a lab coat has melded sight and sound in to one experience! And apparently it DOESN’T make people’s heads explode as we’d feared it would!
