Just when I was wondering what the Hell to post about today, along comes my dealer (Gamersgate) and their selling every single thing they’ve developer and/or distributed for 50% off. As you can tell by checking out my GG profile with that little…widget thing, I’ve bought, oh, a FEW dime bags of joy from them. They keep having sales on stuff I want! I bet three quarters of those games were a minimum of half off when I pushed the plunger down and mainlined a hot blast of digitized bliss straight in to the bloodstream. I’m sure they’d be thrilled with the comparison to hard core street drugs…well, they are Swedish, and the Swedes tend to look at these things a tad differently than we do. Anyway, if you like strategy games, check out the sale here (incidentally Sean, if you still haven’t bought Europa Universalis 3 Complete, it’s in the sale for about 15 bucks. I finally snagged it a few months back, and while I haven’t spent as much time with it as I would wish thanks to other games, it’s sweetness). I’m just linking to the main GG page, but the Paradox sale area is pretty damn obvious from there.
Since I’m rambling about gaming purchases, let’s not forget the DRM free selections found at Good Old Games. They’ve also been adding some good stuff the past little while. I already know my next purchase simply waits for them to add Lords of Magic to the catalog (maybe it’ll appear today?!), though Evil Genius also looks tempting. Come on, a Dungeon Keeper style game with you as a cartoonish Bond villain?! That bleeds cool!
And then there’s Matrix Games releasing Puresim Baseball 2007 as freeware (there are updates in there beyond the 2007 season). I’m not much of a baseball viewer, but I like playing baseball management sims that don’t go completely hardcore (I’m looking at you, Out of the Park series!). And being able to run any team from any year starting in 1901…well, that’s just sweetness. I will get you a title, early 90′s Expos!
