What I’m Playing

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life. — Robert Heinlein

Just sort of a quick update here on whatever is new. Actually, this whole post is just an excuse to try out Windows Live Writer. So far, so good. Go get it your damn self, or at least learn some more, in this convenient location.

Well, on the work front, I blind fired a couple resumes out to airport cargo companies. They weren’t advertising for people, but I figure I’m qualified, so I’ll just send a resume to the HR person, and if they’re interested, they can call. Next week is going to be the big rollout of the applying process, giving me time to mentally prepare (seriously, I find I have to psych myself up for this shit to some extent. Prep myself for the same questions over and over again.), and also get a word processor on this computer, which is sort of essential before one starts trying to do resumes. Also, I really need to do a little research in to good places to search for a job that isn’t located here, since I really have no goddamn idea how one goes about that (so, if you have any ideas, let me know).

ALSO on the work front, victory can officially be declared in the uniform deposit battle. We all got the new unis AND we will all get our deposits back if/when we leave like we would have for the previous unis. From what I understand, we were far from the only branch that called the company out on their spineless manner of trying to sneak this bullshit through, so they had no choice but to cave. Power to the people, baby! Yeah, cause I’m the white Chuck D…you know, without the rapping talent.

And, having just seen Ironman with Vlad and James, I must say, it’s a pretty damn good movie. Turns out this motherfucker was a pretty good choice to play Tony Stark (yes, Virgina, that was just an excuse to test out the ease with which a photo can be inserted). Also doesn’t hurt when you have an avowed comic geek like Jon Favreau directing. Oh, and when you see it, sit through the credits…there’s a nice little snippet that sets up what Marvel Studios has in mind for their entire movie arc.

Anyway, this is enough fucking around for one night, so I bid you adieu.

  • Curse you, and your knowledge of French!

And, yes, Open Office roxorz, as I believe the kids like to say. It certainly beats dropping 170 bucks on a goddamn word processor with nothing else, that's for sure.
  • Just being picky, more because my QA person is in a meeting than because I have anything, really, to say, but adieu basically means we'll meet again in heaven. As in you'll NEVER SEE ME AGAIN!

    So yeah, adieu, I guess.
