I had never given much thought about actors in ads, and then I saw this travesty. Being a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, I was curious about a car ad some of their players did for a local BMW dealership. If this doesn’t make you laugh and/or weep, you are a robot.
Now, who is the worst person in this? Colby Armstrong (now a Florida Panther…he probably demanded to be included in the trade for Hossa to put some distance between himself and this ad) starts it off, and he’s fine. Next up is Maxime Talbot. His bizarre and cheezy performance makes me laugh every goddamn time, so he can’t be the worst. Finally, we have Sergei Gonchar…it’s hard for me to make someone the worst performer when I can’t understand half the fucking words out of his mouth! Finally, we have the winner, Evgeni Malkin. He doesn’t even have a LINE. That means, in testing, he was a WORSE speaker than Gonchar, so they stripped him of his lines. All he does is catch a set of keys and smile at his shoes. Awful.
